Edison-Dick Mimeograph ad from 1932 Fortune Magazine

The Edison-Dick Mimeograph Company was the precursor to the A.B. Dick Company which dominated the small press business in the United States in the middle part of the 20th century.

Pitney Bowes is still is one of the biggest names in postage meters. The postage meter’s origins trace back to 1902, when Arthur H. Pitney, founder of the Pitney Postal Machine Company, started searching for a way to eliminate the need to lick and stick postage stamps. Through a partnership with Walter H. Bowes, founder of the Universal Stamping Machine Company, Pitney Bowes was formed in 1920 and introduced the world’s first postage meter authorized by the USPS®.
